Carbeth- Buachaille

knitted with Buachaille,

100% Wool,

Design from the
West Highland Way Club
More information can be
found here<- b="">

a really fast knit and it will be
on my knitting needles again, maybe
in red or green or yellow, violet,
black would also be great...

the knitting took me 4 days,
a very fast knit even I made it a bit

Buachaille yarn is one of
my favourite yarns to knit with,
its a fantastic quality,
I always hand-wash my
knitted stuff which means
it keeps forever.

This Harris Tweed, I will
turn into a pencil skirt to match
with the Carbeth pullover.
The Harris Tweed is from a fantastic
weaver from the Isle of Lewis..
So everything will be from

Right now, I am busy with
a FairIsle project which will
be finished soon and the
sewing machine is waiting to be used too ...
but there should be more hours during
a day...
all the best

6 1/2 years it was rather silent on my knitting blog.
To celebrate my back to normal life,
I used one of my most favourite yarns to
create a colourful dress.
I used a lot of different techniques,
different Colors from Wollmeise.
All 100% wool.
My Wollmeise yarn, I bought from
KB-Design, Brigitte was downsizing
her stash. Thank you very mucH.
When I knit something without any plans in
advance its whatever comes to my mind.
I always start with a gauge in stockinette stitch.
This dress was knitted bottom up,
first the skirt,
the the upper part,
the sleeves,
the collar
and while knitting the skirt, I decided
to create kind of a tulip skirt with some
different color downwards.
The dress is not blocked yet but due
to the nice weather we have got today,
taking pictures was a must.
I will shoot wearing pictures as soon
as its washed and blocked and the weather
allows it again.

The sight from our upper balcony
but I had to bring them a bit closer,
most of the sheep are wearing bells and
they love to run up and down the hill...
music the whole day and many times
during the night too...

Wollmeise Color Potpurri with
the Lake of Constance in the back..

ah I can see myself ....

one could almost think its warm outside..

.. on the way to go...

on the way to go...

sleeve details

more sleeve details...

FairIsle .. it will be seen better after blocking

the collar I created using 3 different colors

Colors of the skirt...

no birds up in the sky..

I first had to remove a hair from

a bit more sleeve

a detail using a Latvian technique...

and this time a bit closer...

FairIsle but it will look better as soon as its washed
and blocked

more color work

the beginning...

color over color...

the picked up stitches to knit downward

the last rose in the garden.. it saw already a
bit snow and some really cold nights and

somebody was watching us...
the next dress is already on the go but this
time its not only knitting...
Until next time

auf das erste Bild klicken, dann gibts
die Vergrösserungen...

The start and yes, I do know that
drawing isn't my thing... I usually
start with a few sketches taking place in my brain,
I bring them to paper followed by
the knitting needles doing the job with
the help of Audio books. My favourites
are Nordic thrillers..

adding by hand of course

on the way

knitting this whole thing was a pain in the Arctic...
never  would I use such a yarn again.....
expensive doesn't always means quality

before adding the neckline and some more

yes.. not bad so far

and the final look

I knitted everything during the winter
gestrickt habe ich alles letzten Winter

Until next time -
bis zum nächsten Mal

FairIsle Skirt with Unicorn Parellegrams by Stephen West
I used up my leftover yarn from Kate Davies

100% Scottish Woll
Kate Davies Design
110 mtr per 50 g

Unicorn Parellegrams by Stephen West
I have introduced this scarf already here

Its my own design and I used
cables and different Fairisle patterns
from my own librarary..
yes, I do collect knitting books

Since it has minus 7 degrees Celsius today,
I simply found it to cold to wear the outfit myself

The matching hat I bought secondhand
and its from Kenzo...

I was really lucky to be able to shoot
these pictures with a bit of sun because
5 minutes later the clouds had taken over again..

matching leather boots

in the wood next to us, lots of trees are
taken down and I can't really say
that I like it...

and 5 minuts later- it was back to grey.. or
on the way to grey..

and now a few pictures knitting
this skirt.. it took place last

all the best
